The Seattle Swing Dance Club in cooperation with CutARug Productions is bringing to Seattle one of the most dynamic and skilled instructors in the world of swing, Ms. Mary Ann Nuñez. Ms Nuñez will be in Seattle on May 30th for three days of workshops and private lessons. The workshops will be at different locations over the weekend. You will find the addresses to the locations below. For driving directions to the different venues click HERE. Here is the schedule of events:

Friday (May 30)Two workshops -Jay’s Dance Experience. 18005 Aurora Avenue North; Seattle 98133 - the first begins at 7:00 PM and the second at 8:15 PM. (Note: for members of the SSDC or CutARug, your workshop fee will get you into the CutARug dance that evening. Yes…this also goes for affiliated clubs such as the BC Swing Dance Club).

Saturday (May 31)Four workshops at the Juanita Community Club. The workshops will be in the early afternoon at 12:15 PM, 1:30, 2:45 and 4:00. Each of the workshops is a one hour session. The address for the Juanita Community Club is 13027 100th Ave. NE; Kirkland 98034. Ms. Nuñez will be dancing with us later that evening at the Bellevue Community Center.

Sunday (June 1)Three workshops at the Seattle Swing Dance Club’s first Sunday Dance. The workshops will be at 1:30, 2:45 and 4:00 PM. (Note: for members of the SSDC or CutARug, your workshop fee will also get you into the SSDC dance that evening. Yes…this also goes for affiliated clubs such as the BC Swing Dance Club). Ms. Nuñez will be joining us and doing a demonstration at the dance. The Swing Club dance will be at the Alki Masonic Hall located at 4736 40th Avenue SW; Seattle 98116.

7:00 – Be the Partner Everybody Wants to Dance With

8:15 – Anchor Variations That Don’t Interfere with Your Partner

Saturday (May 31st):

12:15 – Connection, Center and Control

1:30 – Gliding Footwork

2:45 – How to Play Within the Music (both leader & follower)

4:00 – Critique Session

Sunday (June 1st):

1:30 – Pivots and Turn Techniques

2:45 – Adding Style to Your Basics

4:00 – He Said, She Said (Fun action & reaction moves)

Workshops Fees: Individual workshops are $20.00 each. A better value is to buy a bonus books

 

All registration for these workshops are at the door.Attention: BC Swing Club and Portland Swing Dance Club Members. Members of the Seattle Swing Dance Club will be offering their homes to you for this weekend event. Our “Home Stay Coordinator is Lydia Lauritzen. Click on her name to send her an e-mail.
