Places to Dance
Partner dancing is alive and well in this, the upper left hand corner of the United States. There are a number of web sites that have an updated listing of dances around Seattle and along the I-5 corridor. This section will link you to the active dance calendars, with a little explanation about what you can expect to find on each specific calendar.

Seattle Dance Info is a web page that is updated at least twice weekly by Ron Bolin. He includes pretty much all dance events that he hears about. This will be the most complete listing of dance events around Seattle, as far South as Olympia and North to Bellingham. He lists events by date, not by dance type.
All Seattle Tango is the site to visit if you are looking to do Argentine Tango. This web site lists both classes and milongas.
USA Dance, Inc is all about ballroom. This website is run by the Seattle Chapter (Chapter 1004) and lists the classes and events of dance schools that are members of USA Dance. You will also find links to ballroom competitions that are sponsored by USA Dance.
The Northwest Dance Network has classes and dance events that cover many genre of dance. Their main dance events usually feature live music and varietal dancing.
The British Columbia Swing Dance Club is the place to go in Vancouver, BC for West Coast Swing. Our friendly neighbour to the North has a very friendly dance and some wonderful instructors.
The Portland Swing Dance Club is where you want to go if you are down visiting in Oregon. Their dances are usually held on Saturday. The PSDC also hosts Bridgetown Swing, a popular swing dance convention.
Waltz Ectetera is the where you want to go if you wish learn and dance the waltz. Their classes and dances are mostly on Monday nights.
If you are traveling around the country there are three web sites you will want to peruse when planning your trip. The first is the website for the American Bop Association. The ABA has 30+ member clubs around the country and your SSDC membership card will get you into their events at their member price (since the SSDC is a member of the ABA). The second is West Coast Swing America. This is a general information page on West Coast Swing with links to many of the WC Swing Clubs in the US and Canada. The third is the USA Swingworld. If you are looking for a comprehensive listing of major swing dance events, this is it.
